Vanessa Hudgens wraps thriller ‘Quiet Storm,’ prepares for baby No. 2

Filipino American actress Vanessa Hudgens is proving that she’s unstoppable, both in front of the camera and in her personal life. The actress embraces powerful onscreen and offscreen roles as she wraps filming and prepares for baby No. 2.

The High School Musical alum and “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” star has officially completed production on “Quiet Storm,” an upcoming ‘60s-set dramatic thriller filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia. 

The project marks the feature directorial debut of Anthony Thorne, who also wrote the script. In this gripping period piece, Hudgens portrays a romance novelist confined to her home during the violent summer landfall of Hurricane Camille in 1969.

As described by Deadline, she battles a different kind of turbulence within, navigating personal upheaval against the backdrop of pivotal cultural movements like women’s liberation and the Black Power revolution.

The film promises to explore the inner psyche of a woman caught between societal change and personal reckoning. Thorne’s narrative roots itself in a decade marked by transformation, with Hudgens’ character embodying the tension between past and progress. 

But as the fictional storm winds down, real-life joy is brewing for Hudgens. Just days after wrapping filming, the Filipino American actress delighted fans by sharing that she’s expecting her second child with husband and MLB player Cole Tucker.
