It was a love story and this time, she said yes. Grammy-award winning pop icon Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce are officially engaged.
In a joint Instagram post on Tuesday, Swift shared a carousel of photos capturing the intimate proposal, with her track “So High School” playing softly in the background.
The caption read: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” In one of the images, Kelce can be seen on one knee, offering Swift a ring, channeling the very words of her own hit: “Marry me, Juliet.”

Though Swift turned off the comments on the post, which has already soared past 12 million likes, the silence in her feed did little to quiet the outpouring of support across social media.
It wasn’t just Taylor Lautner, a longtime friend of Swift, who was among the first to reshare the announcement, drawing smiles from fans who fondly remember their connection years ago.
Among the most meaningful reactions came from Mahomes, Kelce’s longtime teammate and close friend. The star quarterback reshared the announcement to his Instagram story, simply adding three heart emojis.
His wife, Brittany Mahomes, also expressed her excitement, writing on Instagram: “Two of the most genuine people meet and fall in love. Just so happy for these two.”
The Mahomes couple, who have been seen spending time with Swift and Kelce throughout their relationship, appeared genuinely thrilled for the pair’s next chapter.
Other NFL figures chimed in as well. Chiefs defensive end Mike Danna called the engagement “incredible” during a preseason press conference, noting that finding such love is “a blessing.”
Of course, celebrity reactions outside the league poured in, too. Fellow celebrities were quick to celebrate the news. Sabrina Carpenter reshared the announcement with a cascade of white hearts. Avril Lavigne posted her congratulations and stars such as Cardi B, Demi Lovato, Gracie Abrams, Addison Rae, Camila Cabello, Tate McRae, Selena Gomez and Lorde all showed love for the couple by liking the post.
