Bringing his signature wit to the stage, Boy Abunda is set to host the 15th anniversary celebration of The Outstanding Filipino Awards (TOFA), the premier Filipino recognition event in the United States, happening on Oct. 17 and 18 at The Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Since 2015, the “King of Talk” has been the voice and heart of TOFA, seamlessly guiding audiences through moments of triumph, gratitude and pride.

This year, he takes the helm once more as the organization honors 100 of the most influential Filipinos from various industries, a fitting tribute to a decade and a half of spotlighting Filipino excellence across the globe.

Founded by journalist and community leader Elton Lugay, TOFA has grown into an international platform that uplifts inspiring Filipino stories. For its milestone edition, previous honorees from 2011 to 2024 were intentionally excluded to make room for a new wave of achievers shaping today’s Filipino legacy.

Among those to be celebrated are Concert Queen Pops Fernandez, Queen of Soul Jaya and Comedy Queen Ai-Ai delas Alas.

For Ai-Ai, the recognition feels deeply personal. “Feeling incredibly honored and grateful to receive this recognition from TOFA! As I celebrate 35 wonderful years in the showbiz industry, this moment feels even more special,” she shared in a Facebook post, expressing gratitude for the acknowledgement and her faith for constant guidance.

Adding star power to the evening, Filipino American rapper EZ Mil, the first Asian artist signed under Eminem’s Shady Records, will appear as one of the presenters, bringing a modern edge to the program that celebrates both tradition and innovation.

The festivities continue on Oct. 18 with an after-party concert, titled “Piliin Mo Ang Pilipino,” featuring performances from Nonoy Zuñiga, Jaya, Tootsie Guevarra, Kris Lawrence, Mark Mabasa and Garth Garcia.
