A Filipino drama is set to take center stage in Toronto, Canada, as director Brillante Mendoza’s latest film, “Until She Remembers,” earns a spot at Siné Film Fest.
The film will make its international premiere as the festival’s opening night presentation on March 6 at 6 p.m. at the TIFF Lightbox in Toronto.
Headlined by veteran actress Charo Santos-Concio and Kapuso star Barbie Forteza, the film also features screen legend Boots Anson-Roa Rodrigo in a pivotal role. The trio brings emotional weight to a story that explores memory, sacrifice and the enduring imprint of love across generations.

According to IMDb, the storyline revolves around the quiet journey of a grandmother and the young girl whose life she shapes.
“At its heart is a grandmother, portrayed by Charo Santos-Concio, whose life is shaped not by grand declarations but by the depth of what she has given and what she has endured,” the site stated.
Through the grandmother’s presence, the young girl, played by Barbie Forteza, comes to realize that life’s most powerful lessons are not spoken but experienced. The film underscores loving despite having less and the value of treasuring the memories.
”Until She Remembers” will be screened in the Philippines starting Feb. 25.
