After being credited as Maddox Jolie-Pitt in the 2024 biographical drama “Maria,” the eldest child of actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt is now appearing under a different professional name in his latest film project.

In the credits of Jolie’s new movie “Couture,” Maddox is listed simply as Maddox Jolie, a noticeable shift in how he is identified within the film industry.

The 2024 film “Maria,” starring Angelina Jolie, saw Maddox serve as a production assistant. He was credited using the hyphenated surname Jolie-Pitt.

The name change became evident when “Couture” premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2025. Production notes distributed to journalists during the festival already reflected the updated credit, later confirmed in the film’s official listings.

Maddox worked on the project as an assistant director, which continued his steady involvement behind the camera rather than pursuing an acting career.

The adjustment also mirrors developments within the Jolie-Pitt family in recent years. Several of Maddox’s siblings have reportedly chosen to drop “Pitt” from their names in public or informal settings, making Maddox the latest among them to distance himself from the surname, at least professionally.

While no public statement has been issued on the change, the evolution of Maddox’s credit arrives as he continues building experience in filmmaking.
