Disney hit teen sitcom “Hannah Montana” is returning with a 20th anniversary special premiering March 24 on Disney+.
Pop star-actress Miley Cyrus will return to the series that launched her stardom as Miley Stewart, a teenager who led a secret life as pop star Hannah Montana.
Set to be filmed in front of a live studio audience, the special will feature an interview with Cyrus hosted by podcaster Alex Cooper. The series retrospective will show never-before-seen footage, memorable sets and more.
Disney dropped the trailer for the special, set to “This is the Life” from the Hannah Montana soundtrack.
“I’m already getting emotional,” Cyrus said, walking onto the set.

“This show defined a generation,” Cooper told the actress, who saw this special as her way of celebrating the fans who stood by her all these years.
Cyrus summed up the emotional return to the character, saying, “This feels like home to me.”
In a Disney press release, Cyrus shared that Hannah Montana will always be a part of who she is. “What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans,” she said.
Also featured in the trailer are her father Billy Ray Cyrus and her mother Tish Cyrus.
Premiering in 2006, the “Hannah Montana“ cast included Billy Ray Cyrus, Emily Osment, Jason Earles, Mitchell Musso and Moisés Arias.
Fil-Am actress Anna Maria Perez de Tagle-Kline also joined the cast in a recurring role.
