Anne Hathaway shares ‘magical’ moment with Taylor Swift

A simple moment at The Eras Tour turned unforgettable for Anne Hathaway after a handwritten note from Taylor Swift herself.

During her appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on April 15, Hathaway shared how the surprise happened while she was in the audience.

In the middle of the show, someone approached her with a message straight from Swift. “Somebody tapped me on the shoulder and said, ‘Taylor wants you to have this.’ I opened it—it was a note where Taylor said, ‘I’m so happy you’re here. I’m going to be enthusiastically waving at you.’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God, she’s so magical!’”

The actress was in the area at the time filming her upcoming movie “Mother Mary,” but took the chance to attend the concert. Describing the experience, she shared that when the “Cruel Summer” singer stepped onstage, “the whole place exploded.”

She added that Swift “makes the audience feel so loved” and that she personally felt included in that warmth. Before the note reached her, Hathaway had already been second-guessing herself.

She recalled teasing herself internally, thinking it was cute that she believed Swift might actually be waving at her in such a massive venue. But as it turned out, that instinct wasn’t far off.

Recounting the moment again, she said she opened the note in disbelief, “What is happening?” only to realize it was real. “Oh my God! She’s so magical!” She added with excitement that Swift “did the thing,” joking that she felt “special” after all.

Beyond the concert moment, Hathaway also revealed that Swift’s artistry has influenced her creatively. For her role as a pop star in “Mother Mary,” she drew inspiration from several music icons, including Lady Gaga and Beyoncé.
