More than 14 years after mini-series “Nandito Ako,” his first acting project in the Philippines, David Archuleta is once again celebrating the role that forged a lasting connection with Filipino audiences.

The American singer-songwriter marked July 15 by acknowledging “Josh Bradley Day,” an annual fan tradition celebrating the birthday of his character from the 2012 mini-series.

Sharing throwback photos from the production on Instagram, Archuleta said fans had recently reminded him that they still commemorate the fictional singer’s birthday every year.

“Happy birthday, Josh Bradley. I was reminded recently by some fans that they’d celebrate Josh Bradley Day (July 15th, his birthday) after I played the character for the mini series in the Philippines, Nandito Ako. I sang a version of the [Ogie Alcasid] song with the same title which the series was named after,” he wrote.

Memorable

The post prompted Archuleta to revisit the month he spent filming in the Philippines, a period he described as one of the most memorable chapters of his career. He reflected on how quickly time has passed, but noted that the connection Filipino audiences have maintained with both him and Josh Bradley has remained remarkably strong.

According to the singer, every visit back to the Philippines reminds him of the series’ enduring impact. He shared that fans still bring Josh Bradley signs and memorabilia to his concerts, gestures that instantly bring him back to his time on set and the friendships he formed with the cast and crew.

Surprises for Filipino fans

He also took the opportunity to thank Filipino fans for staying with him beyond his acting stint, saying their support has carried through every stage of his career, from music releases to live performances. He expressed his gratitude for the loyalty they have shown over the years and hinted that more activities for Philippine fans are on the horizon.

“Thank you to the Filipino fans for supporting my music, my journey, and every chapter in between. I’m so grateful for all of you! I’ve got a few surprises coming for the Philippines soon…”

“Nandito Ako” premiered in 2012 and marked Archuleta’s acting debut. Inspired by Ogie Alcasid’s hit song of the same title, the mini-series followed Josh Bradley, an internationally acclaimed performer whose return to the Philippines leads him on a journey of love, identity and family.
