After being selected as the country’s official entry for the Best International Feature Film category at the 99th Academy Awards, Rafael Manuel’s “Filipiñana” is now available on digital and video-on-demand platforms.
Beginning Oct. 27, viewers can rent or purchase the 100-minute feature through digital retailers such as Apple TV and Fandango at Home (formerly Vudu). The film is also available to stream on Kanopy.
The expanded availability gives moviegoers who may have missed its theatrical or festival screenings another opportunity to see one of the country’s most talked-about independent releases of 2026.
Directed by Rafael Manuel, “Filipiñana” follows Isabel, a 17-year-old tee girl working at an exclusive country club on the outskirts of Manila. Through her experiences, the coming-of-age drama examines class divisions, labor, privilege and the lingering effects of postcolonial society, all unfolding within the manicured landscape of an elite golf club.
Jorrybell Agoto plays the lead, with Teroy Guzman joining the cast as Dr. Palanca.
The feature also expands Manuel’s acclaimed short film of the same name, which previously received recognition at the Berlin International Film Festival.
