Olivia Rodrigo is still taking in what her inaugural Daisy Chain festival became, not just as an all-women music event but as a space where thousands of people gathered around a shared sense of optimism.
A day after the successful debut of Daisy Chain Fields, the Filipino American Grammy-winning artist took to Instagram to reflect on the experience, calling it one of the most meaningful moments of her career.
“Seeing daisy chain come to fruition (Saturday) was the greatest joy of my career. riot grrrl mosh pits. friendship bracelets being made on the grass. young girls on their dads shoulders. I am still in a bit of disbelief that it happened and I still feel incapable of properly expressing the gratitude that I feel for every person who believed in this vision and fought so hard to make it a reality,” she added.
While the festival was built around celebrating women in music, Rodrigo revealed that its most unforgettable memory came after the final performances had ended.

Shared hopes for a better world
According to the singer, she and her friends stayed behind after festivalgoers had left, wandering the now-empty grounds while trying to process everything they had witnessed throughout the day. Their night concluded at Yoko Ono’s “Wish Tree” installation, where attendees had written down personal hopes and tied them to the branches.
Rodrigo shared that although some messages were playful, many carried strikingly similar sentiments.
She described reading wish after wish with her friends, noting that while some people hoped their dogs would live forever or wished for longer hair, the overwhelming majority expressed hopes for peace, happiness for loved ones and the opportunity to make a positive difference in the world.
“Last night after the festival was over and everyone had gone home, my friends and I ran around the grounds and tried to process all that we had just witnessed,” she shared. “We ended our night of frolicking at yoko onos ‘wish tree’ installation at the entrance of the festival. it was the most beautiful artwork (yoko if ur reading this I love you) where festival goers wrote down something they hoped for on a tag and tied it onto a branch of a tree.”
She continued by explaining that the installation served as a reminder that people share more common ground than they often realize.
For Rodrigo, those handwritten wishes transformed the festival into something beyond a lineup of performances. Instead, they reflected a community connected by compassion and the desire to create a better future.
Rodrigo ended her reflection by thanking everyone who attended the inaugural event and left fans with a promise that Daisy Chain Fields will return.
