“Ooh, Olivia does remixes now,” Chappell Roan quips in an audio teaser shared by Olivia Rodrigo on Instagram.
The two global superstars teamed up for a remixed version of Rodrigo’s new wave-inspired track, “Expectations.”
The Oct. 15 release was accompanied by a music video featuring the duo competing in a retro-style TV game show.
The track from the Filipino American artist’s critically acclaimed album, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,” explores the aftermath of a breakup as Rodrigo sets higher standards for future relationships.
“Gave my heart with zero stipulations, now I take careful consideration,” she sings in the chorus.
The “Casual” singer joins the remix in the second verse, recounting how she was ghosted after a concert: “She said she’d call me later, that was three weeks ago. Classic L.A. behavior.”
Following the track’s release, Rodrigo praised her friend and collaborator on social media, writing, “Chappell is the most incredible person and the most inspiring artist and I am so lucky to be able to learn from her and call her a friend.”

In August, the two artists joined forces at Daisy Chain Fields Festival, a women-led charity event organized by Rodrigo.
Roan was among the festival’s headliners, alongside Mitski, Doechii and Bikini Kill. The event raised $20 million for organizations supporting women’s rights.
